Countries across the world have their own Immigration laws in force to facilitate the migration of individuals from all around the globe. Be it skilled migration, family visa, business Immigration or other Immigration sub-types a regulated system has been established to monitor all these applications. Every country has their distinct system and mode of operation. Australian Immigration has a very segmented and organized Immigration system to distinguish the different Immigration routes. This classification is called the Subclass system. The subclasses are established to ensure that it accommodates the different Immigration programs set up by the Australian Government. Let’s look at the main subclasses of Immigration to Australia. Subclass 189 – Skilled Independent Visa The subclass 189 visa is the Permanent Residence visa category counter part of Australia Immigration. This points based system assess the candidates eligibility for Immigrating and settling in Australia permanently requiring candidates to score 65 points without nomination Subclass 190 – Skilled Nominated Visa The visa subclass 190 is similar to the subclass 189 visa with the exception that the candidate must be nominated by the Australian state or Territorial Government. Applicant can live as a permanent resident but must spend 2 years in the nominated state or territory in Australia. Subclass 489 – Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa The subclass 489 visa requires skilled workers to live and work in Australia in a specified region or low population growth metropolitan area for a period of four years. Subclass 485 – Temporary Graduate Visa This visa subclass is directed to graduates from an Australian educational Institution to live and work in Australia after the completion of their education. Subclass 482 – Temporary Skilled Shortage Visa This visa subclass replaced the subclass 457 Temporary work visa.
