Function Of Fuel Injection Pump |
Posted: July 21, 2019 |
Fuel injection is used in internal combustion engines of different automotive vehicles and is done for the purpose of the engine to avoid fuel starvation. The fuel injection system aids in feeding fuel and air into the engine and there are two ways to inject fuel in the engine.
Fuel Injection Pump & Its System
Fuel Injection pump and the fuel injection system is the most favored done among the car owners and is used in almost all types of automotive engines – diesel engine and even in the petrol one. However, generally fuel is fed into the combustion engine of vehicles in two fuel injection system and these systems are referred as are Electronic Fuel Injection and Mechanical Fuel Injection.
While the earliest fuel injection pump was aimed to replace the carburetor, the more advanced ones is very crude in the modern standard. When it comes to the basic types of fuel injection pipe used in new cars or vehicles there are 4 types of fuel injection.
While the Throttle Body Injection and Multipoint Port Fuel Injection are the common two types, currently the most used type of fuel injection are mainly Direct Fuel Injection and Port Fuel Injection. Both direct injection and port fuel injection comes with extra advantage and provides precise control over the injection point and engine performs smoother with better mpg.
Basic Function Of Fuel Injection Pump
On the bottom line, fuel injection pump is a vital integral component of the fuel injection system for supplying adequate amount of fuel with adequate pressure and open the fuel injector in a timely manner.
