5 Great London Locations for Photographers
London photography courses can teach you many things – how to frame a shot, the perfect aperture for certain conditions and how you should deal with perspective. Another thing that you might also learn is where to get the perfect photographs within the city.
Whether you are looking for perfect natural scenery, or bustling action shots, London has the perfect locations for you. It is full of renowned wonders and hidden gems that are ideal for photographers searching for that elusive shot. Here are just a few of them.
The London EyeThis relatively new landmark, which sits on the Thames riverbank, is ideal for photographers looking to catch a different perspective of the city. The rotating wheel lifts you to a height which you normally wouldn't reach to shoot pictures from. Of course, you are snapping through a window, which may be a deterrent to some photographers. However, we think the scenery and view make up for any inconveniences.
Tower BridgeThe famous bridge, with its iconic twin towers, is like something from a fairy tale, and a genuine London wonder. Getting shots of it is an essential excursion for any photographer that visits the city. It truly is beautiful and unlike anything anywhere else in the world. Some of London's other famous bridges and landmarks are nearby, so it's wonderful for a day out snapping pics of London's famous landmarks.
The TubeThe previous two locations are monuments you must visit while in the city, but why not take a few pictures on your way to those famous sightseeing locations. The Tube is perfect for fans of lively action shots – however, either be very subtle or make sure you request permission from any strangers before you take their photo. London commuters mightn't be too happy to find a photography enthusiast taking snaps of them at their most groggy.
Hyde ParkHyde Park is one of the best public parks within the whole city and is full of endearing and cute locations which give photographers a snap of nature within a big city. Whether it be the bustling squirrels, or the abundance of dog-walkers, this place really does give you a alternative view of London – so get out there and snap it now!
ShoreditchThis area has become known for being a hipster hub, right in the centre of the city. Documenting its gentrification, from working class area to trendy suburb, is an interesting project for any budding photographer. The area is littered with amazing graffiti and interesting characters.
Just be careful though, as you will be lucky to escape the area without a fashionable moustache and a soy latte.
