The folk dance troupe "HORA" (of 1994 "HORA-HORITA") was founded in 1964. During its entire activity, the troupe created its own repertoire that includes popular authentic dances from different folk zones of the country.
After ten years, the ensamble "HORA" resumed its activity in 1994, leaded by Constntin Schiopu. In the same year the ensamble changed its name to "HORA-HORITA".
Many generations have performed in this troupe. At present it includes two groups: young people between 18-30 years old, who are lyceum or university student and children between 12 -15 years old. In the last 17 years (1994-20011) of the young generation?s activity, the troupe "HORA-HORITA", following the tradition, became laureate of the folk republican festivals "La vatra horelor" and "Alunelul", and was awarded the 1st and 2nd prize diplomas of the municipal festival "La fântâna dorului" (2003 - 2011).
In its present formula the troupe "HORA-HORITA" has participated in the folk international festivals in Holland (Raalte, 2010), France (Marceille, 2011, La Reole, Morcenx, 2009), Poland ( Zielona Gora, 2008), Bulgaria (Varna, 2006), Germany (Munich, 2003), Turkey (Ciorlu, 2004) Romania (Covasint, 2011, Iasi, 2005, Sibiu, 2006, Turda,2007), Bielarusi (Minsk, 2000), Ukraine (Kamentsk- Podilsk, 2011, Kiev, 2000), Italy (Vico de Equense, 2002).
The artistic director and ballet master of the troupe "HORA-HORITA" is Constantin Schiopu, doctor, university lecturer.
