Organizing a day-trip or a camping is a great way to do exactly that. It gives the kids something extra to do as well improve their understanding of the nature all around them. It also gives them a chance to gel with other students and act as a team player while trying to fit into the bigger scheme of things. Though the prospects are great, you can always run into trouble while handling so many kids all by yourself if you do not plan the event beforehand. Follow these simple guidelines, which will definitely help you sort out the key steps required for a successful trip.
- Before taking the classroom to some random places, always research the internet to look for some of the best campsite available around your location. It will help you to plan all other subsequent action that is required for making the trip hassle free. Talk to the campsite authorities, if there are any, and obtain required permissions to set up the camp on the date you chose. You should check for someplace that has some historical or scientific value, which could be taught to the student when they get to visit the place.
- Finalize a date for the trip. Talk to the principal and other staffs to let them know about your intentions and ask if anyone wants to volunteer. Secure permission from the principal and the school board by giving them every details of the intended trip. Tell them specifically about the reasons and the benefits of such trips. After you are permitted to go forward with the trip from the school, inform the parents of all the school kids who will be travelling with you. Ask them for their permission but don’t force anyone if they want stay out of the trip.
- Buy all the supplies necessary for the trip. It may include snacks, foods, camping gears, medical kits and other such stuffs. Pack them in large square gift boxes according to the categories and mark them so that you save space on the bus. It is also convenient to carry a few boxes instead of a large number of individual packets.
- On the actual day of camping, try to leave as early as you can to secure the best spot on the camping site. It will also leave you enough time in hand to let the kids actually enjoy the full day without worrying much about returning. Carry a few extra tents and other such stuffs in large gift boxes with lids so that every child can be comfortable while they put up with each other in the campsite.
- You must make proper planning about the activities and games that you want the kids to play. You can also arrange learning sessions and explain something academic while basking in the sunshine. The kids will love the new environment of the classroom and would learn faster than what they could in the regular classrooms.
- While it is understandable that you have certain responsibilities on your shoulder, but that shouldn’t be a deterrent for you to enjoy the excursion. Hangout with the students, do fun stuffs and enjoy the day as much as you can.
