It makes a lot of sense to recycle your old android phone, especially when you consider that it still works and it isn’t much wrong with it. Before you sell it there are some important steps you should take. The first is to find a company that will offer you a good rate – so long as the phone isn’t too old or too broken you should be able to sell it for some money. After that, make sure that you:
- Save all your data onto your Google Drive. So long as you have a Gmail account you should have a Google Drive account, so creating backups there shouldn’t be any trouble. This should include all your app data (games, project apps and so on), your contacts, calendar, browser bookmarks and everything else that’s important.
- Send all your videos and photos to Google as well – you can use Google Photos which allows you lots of free storage for photos and videos. You can also back them up to your PC or laptop.
- Wipe all your data and then perform a factory reset. Some people assume that deleting all data is enough, but even after you clean your phone you may find some information is still available. A factory reset is the only way to make sure that it is completely clean.
